Kayla (born in South Korea) is 24 and lives for one thing: K-Pop. She grew up in a very typical South Korean way — between long school days, hagwon afternoons and the constant pressure to one day "make something of herself". While the others crammed, she sang: in the school choir, at karaoke with friends, and secretly in front of the mirror at night to her favourite idols.
That the dream became reality she owes in equal parts to her talent and a healthy dose of luck — she was simply in the right place at the right time. A random clip, an attentive eye, an open casting window: suddenly the shy student was standing in front of real producers, getting to show what her voice could do.
And that is a lot. Kayla is an exceptionally gifted singer with range and feeling, carrying even the biggest hooks with ease. Add to that her charisma: pretty, sweet and with a cheeky, playful streak that makes her irresistible on stage and in interviews alike. The kind who seems well-behaved — and then proves the opposite with a wink.
